A troll I inherited

Among the many interesting people I have been
blessed to meet in my life, was a man whose life
had been a series of events nobody could have
imagined.

When he died, his close friends gave his few possessions away.
They gave me this Norwegian troll that used to stand in
his little home.
I look at the troll and remember his presence.
His personality.
His life.

Qoute from an elderly relative

"Lieber ein Ende mit Schrecken
als ein Schrecken ohne Ende."

Perhaps to be translated as
"Better a horrible end than horror without end."

My career as an icicle fighter

About a week ago I spent several days "fighting" icicles.
Those beautiful creations can be a real hazard for people on
the ground, so both at work and at home I used long sticks
to get them down.
In Norway it is the houseowner's responsibility to get
them down, but I didn't wait for that.

The icicles give a very special sound when they break.
Nearly like music.

PS. I don't think that was the reason for my present back pain.

Discovering back pain

Yes.
Yesterday at work I felt pain in my lower back.
It got so bad, I had to go home.

Now it is hard to sit.
Hard to stand.
Hard to lie down.

Till now, my back has served me well. Thanks!

I hope I will find a way to get out of the present
situation as soon as possible, and then prevent
back problems in the future.

Time out

Just a short message to those who wonder why I am so quiet:
I am unpacking all those 23 boxes I sent to myself,
refiling and looking for more bookshelves.
And then there is my regular job....

Qoute for some days in the coming year

"The holiest of all holidays are those kept
by ourselves in silence and apart:
the secret anniversaries of the heart."

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
